Risks in virtual enterprise networks and supply chains

It is not unusual for suppliers in a supply chain to come together and act as a Virtual Enterprise Network (VEN) and today’s supply chains exhibit many VEN-like features. Is managing risks in Virtual Enterprise Networks different from managing risks in supply chains? With this in mind I submitted a paper to MITIP2009, the 11th International Conference on the Modern Information Technology in the Innovation Processes of the Industrial Enterprises, to be held in Bergamo, Italy, in October.

MITIP2009 – a conference worth considering

The purpose of the Modern Information Technology in the Innovation Processes of the Industrial Enterprises conference is  to serve as a forum for the dissemination of ideas, knowledge and experiences about the ICT-driven innovation in industrial products, processes and services. The conference is targeted to scholars and practitioners involved in research activities focusing on the role of ICT in modern industrial enterprises, and it particularly focuses on the exchange of ideas between Eastern and Western Europe. Having recently been asked by Roberto Pinto, who also runs riskcentral.org,  to join the scientific committee for the conference, I feel obliged to advertise this conference. This year’s conference is the 11th conference and runs from 15 to 16 October 2009 in Bergamo, Italy.
