28 Global Risks in 2015

The Global Risk Report 2015 highlights and reflects upon a wide range of cross-cutting challenges that can threaten social stability. These risks are additionally aggravated by the global economic crisis and persistent unemployment.Things have not improved since the inception of the Global Risk Reports in 2005, they have in fact turned worse. Local risks have now gone global.

The Final Frontier: The Northern Sea Route

2010 – the year of catastrophe

A recent article in the Wall Street Journal, an article that paints 2010 as the year of the catastrophe, and the insurance company Swiss Re estimates that worldwide economic losses from natural catastrophes and man-made disasters reached $222 billion last year – more than triple the losses in 2009.
